Add and Manage Collection Entries
Once your collection structure and template are ready, you can start adding content by creating entries. Each entry you add will generate a page (if the collection has pages enabled) using the collection template. This guide covers how to add new entries and edit existing ones.
Accessing Your Collection
In the Pixelesq editor, navigate to Collections and select your desired collection. You'll see the collection's entry list, which displays all existing entries. If you're starting fresh, this list will be empty.
Creating New Entries
Click the New Entry button (usually marked with a + icon) to open the entry editor. You'll encounter either a form-based interface or an in-context editing mode:
Form Interface: Fields match your defined schema. Enter titles, text content, upload media, set dates, and complete all required fields (marked with *).
In-Context Mode: Edit directly within the template preview by clicking editable areas to modify content.
Managing Your Entries
Save your entry once you've filled in the content. The new entry appears in your collection list and generates a page if enabled. Make updates anytime by selecting the entry from the list and modifying its content in the editor.
Organizing Your Collection
Use the entry list view for efficient management:
Sort entries by Name, Date, or other fields
Search through entries to find specific content
Use draft status to prepare content without publishing
Delete entries when no longer needed (with caution)
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Ensure all required fields are filled before saving
Verify entries are published if not appearing on live site
Check image uploads are complete and properly linked
Confirm template bindings are correct for all fields
Pro Tip: Before deleting any entry, remember that this action removes both the content and its associated page. Always verify that the entry isn't linked elsewhere in your site to prevent broken links.
